The 2 suspects

The alleged culprits
Two Libyan citizens are accused of masterminding the bombing of Pan Am flight 103. The US Government claims them to be alleged Libyan intelligence officers. Are the two Libyans really hideous criminals with a sinister cause or are they innocent family fathers with an unlucky fate ? That is what the Pan Am 103/Lockerbie trial is really all about - the verdict is yet far away. But who is Abdelbasset al-Megrahi and Lameen Fhimah ?

Abdelbasset al-Megrahi Abdelbasset Ali al-Megrahi

Lameen Khalifa Fhimah Lameen Khalifa "The Egg" Fhimah

Official Scottish indictment
Exactly what are the two suspects charged for ? Read the official criminal indictment/petition against Fhimah and Megrahi from the Scottish Lord Advocate November 13, 1991.
And this is the US view of what the Libyans are supposed to have done.
NB! Only the Scottish petition will be relevant to the upcoming Lockerbie Trial.

Crime outline
This is the official US outline of the crime, taken from ENN Archives, August 1993 . Here the United States Department of State is giving the public the idea of how the bombing of Pan Am 103 allegedly took place.
